Education in Rural India: a talk via Skype and an exhibition at the International English Library by Syeda Asia

In a Skype session from 6 to 7 pm German time, Syeda Asia will talk to you about the challenges of rural education in India using the Government Upper Primary School in Mandawa, Rajasthan, that they sponsor as an example.

After the talk, you will have the opportunity to buy cards which have been made* using photographs of drawings made by these school children. The proceeds from the sale of the cards along with half the entrance fee for the talk will be donated to the school. Further donations are welcome. We will also be displaying posters made by the pupils of the Goerres Gymnasium in Dusseldorf, who did a project week on India last winter and raised money for the village school in Rajasthan by selling self-made chutneys and spices.

When:    Thursday, 22nd June 2017 at 6.00 pm sharp

Where:   International English Library, Conference Room

Admission charge:  € 5 (includes a drink and a nibble)

Please register by fax, phone or email by 20th June 2017.
